Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Easily the best bang-for-your-buck Mexican place I've found in DSM. My mom considers herself a Mexican food connoisseur, and she couldn't stop raving. The portions are so large that entrees could easily be shared, but we each ordered our own Chipotle Burrito nonetheless and ended up practically licking our plates clean--even after we gorged on a few baskets of the table salsa and hot tortilla chips. Yum. Just yum.

This is our new go to for Mexican. There was nothing wrong with out old regular place, but 5 de Mayo is better. It has all the standby dishes you come to expect with attentive, quick service. The dishes we have ordered seem to be a bit better - more flavor, better ingredients and attention to details. They have a vegetarian quesadilla with broccoli, I think is delicious. They have multiple sizes of margaritas too!

We have eaten at this location a couple of times and prefer it over the south side location. We used to eat at another Mexican restaurant that is nearby but found that we like this one much more. It has your traditional Mexican food fare but is delicious. We have been here at peak dinner times and also off times and received good service regardless.

I feel bad saying this because the service is great, but the food is a disaster. I've been to this place many times in hopes it would get better. Their steak burritos are great but, anything else I've tried on the menu is drenched in sauce. Tonight I had their gigantic burrito. It was decent on the inside but it was swimming in the sauce that was supposed to just go over it. I wish they could be more consistent.

Nice atmosphere + delicious food = The best combination Would highly recommend! I was here last night with my husband and had a great time, i especially LOOOVED the choriqueso dip... A must to accompany your chips while waiting for the food A full bar was a nice surprise too! Delicious "cantaritos"

Best bang for the buck Mexican in the area. Good margaritas, fast service.

Went for an early dinner with my family. The Mole Enchiladas with pulled beef was really good. So was the Carne Dogollado, full of flavor. The staff was very friendly and the service prompt. Would definitely come back. The location on Yelp is not correct so let Google map show you the way instead.

We have eaten there a couple times and the four of us found it to be very good with great prices! If you are in the area, please stop in to support this local restaurant! We will return!

ordered a chicken TOSTADA - couldn't pick it up to eat it - had to eat it with a knife and fork. It was soggy on the bottom, dripping wet from the chicken!!

The food is really quite delicious, especially the fajita nachos (which I often get as a meal) and the pitcher of Margaritas is a really good deal. The service is always very friendly and attentive. We hope this place does well, as it's never very busy when we go and it's in a tough location in a little strip mall off 50th and E.P. True Parkway, but it's worth finding and going for a meal.

We had a very nice meal there tonight. My husband had the carnitas and I had a chimichanga. The food was excellent and the service was prompt and professional. The food was better than most of the local Mexican restaurants.
